Three naxals killed in encounter

By Our Staff Reporter

MULUG (WARANGAL DT.) SEPT. 16. Three naxals were killed in an exchange of fire with the police on the outskirts of Inchamcheruvupalli village in the Jakaram reserve forest area in the wee hours of today.

According to the Mulug DSP, R.N. Ammi Reddy, a team of policemen were combing the area following specific information about the movement of naxals in the forest. On seeing the police party, they opened fire and the police retaliated.

In the exchange of fire lasting about 20 minutes, three naxals, reportedly belonging to the banned PW, were killed.

Three country-made revolvers, kit bags and water cans were recovered from the spot.

PW naxals set on fire the petrol bunk belonging to the TDP leader, A. Chandulal, in Mulug Ghanpur on Monday night.

They thrashed the attendants at the bunk and threatened to damage the properties and eliminate TDP leaders.

In a statement issued here, the Superintendent of Police, Nalin Prabhat, condemned the naxal violence, and said the department would not spare anyone resorting to anti-social activities.
