Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the editorial, "Guns and roses" ( Sept. 15 ), you have rightly said that Operation Parakram and the consequent pressure on Pakistan to de-escalate its jehad in Kashmir, led to more substantial gains than Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's political labours did. This is precisely what the BJP leaders have been saying since the Mufti announced his `healing touch' policy. The policy can only work with those who see reason.
K.R.A. Narasiah,
Sir, Retaliatory strikes on innocent targets, freely indulged in by both Israelis and Palestinians, are only spelling death and destruction for both sides. And the healing touch therapy in Kashmir has also not resulted in a decline of terrorism. The Israelis/Palestinians and the J&K Government would do well to swap stances.
G. Jagannathan,
