Letters to the Editor
Sir, The verdicts in the Staines murder case and the Best Bakery case show justice is not dead in India. While they serve as a lesson to those who think that political background and support can save them from the consequences of committing a crime, the people's faith in the Judiciary has increased.
Francis Prasad,
Sir, We have been witnessing communal riots right from the time of Partition. The 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the Gujarat riots of 2002 were monumental aberrations in the history of civilised India. It is a reflection of our criminal justice system that none of the rioters has been convicted so far. Both the Congress and the BJP are equally responsible for the current state of affairs. None has the moral right to talk about the other.
Vishwarupa Bhattacharya,
