Appan Menon award

NEW DELHI
SEPT. 17.
The Appan Menon Memorial Award for the year 2003 has been awarded to Shankarshan Thakur, Political Editor, Third Eye Television, for writing and researching a book on the voices of Kashmir reflecting the point of the people of the Valley. This was announced by Krishna Menon, Managing Trustee of the Appan Menon Memorial Trust earlier this week. The award carries with it a cash incentive of Rs. 1 lakh and is announced in September coinciding with Appan Menon's birth anniversary.
Proposals from journalists having special interest in international affairs or developmental issues with an Indian viewpoint are invited every year to be submitted anytime from June and August.
