Passport cells in all districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM SEPT. 17. The Government has given administrative sanction for starting district passport cells in all district headquarters for the convenience of passport applicants.

The cells will function at the offices of the District Superintendents of Police.

An official release said here today that the cells had been formed earlier in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam Rural, Malappuram and Kannur districts on an experimental basis. They were found to be successful.

Applicants could file their passport applications at the cells and this would be forwarded to the regional passport offices with the necessary recommendation after scrutiny. This would help to avoid delays.
