IAF conducts air show in Jammu

JAMMU SEPT. 18. In an attempt to attract the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to the service, the Indian Air Force today put up a magnificent air show at the MAM Stadium here.

On display were helicopters of different types — Mi-17, Cheetah, Mi-35 and Mi-26. They demonstrated various combat operations. A total of 12 aircraft participated in the show.

The Akash Ganga team demonstrated its paratrooping skills. The grand finale was the high-speed run and vertical manoeuvres by a MiG 29 fighter aircraft.

An enthusiastic crowd of 50,000, consisting mainly of teenagers, witnessed the show. This is the first time a show of this nature is being held here.
