Govt. has to decide India-Pak. series: Dalmiya

Mumbai Sept. 18. The Cricket Board chief Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya told The Hindu that discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Officer and former cricketer Rameez Raja on the resumption of India-Pakistan series will not serve any purpose.

"Why invite pressure. The Board will always by guided by the decision of the Government of India on this matter,'' said Mr. Dalmiya.

He arrived here in connection with a few functions of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Mr. Dalmiya sees the Government of India's decision to allow the Indian under-19 tour to Pakistan as a `positive signal'.

India is scheduled to visit Pakistan next year after the series in Australia.
