Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Staff Reporter
The Mayor presented a garland to the boy and appreciated him for the courage and presence of mind. According to reports, Suraj, son of a newspaper employee, D. Hussainaiah, was playing with his three-year-old cousin, Fayaz, near his house at Stantonpuram when the latter sudden fell into a pit filled with water and was about to be drowned. Suraj lifted the boy holding him by his hair and shouted for help. Risking his own fall into the pit, Suraj did not lose the grip until the elders rushed out and removed the boy from the pit. By then the boy swallowed water and fell unconscious. He recovered after first aid.
