NEW DELHI. SEPT 18. The Lok Janshakti president, Ramvilas Paswan, has warned of a "major social upheaval" if an immediate end is not put to the exploitation of Dalits in the country. Addressing an International Conference in Berlin, on Dalit politics, Mr. Paswan said that "it would be dangerous for Indian society if political and economic justice were denied to Dalits." Mr. Paswan lamented that even after 56 years of Independence, the Dalits were still being discriminated against.
