Sir, I refer to your editorial, "The future of CAS" (Sept. 13). One fails to understand why a broadcaster should become a pay channel at all when free-to-air channels are commercially viable. CAS is only a ploy to force pay channels on viewers so that vested interests can make more money. The need of the hour is to break the monopoly of cable operators. V. Krishnan, Chennai
