Future of CAS

Sir, — I refer to your editorial, "The future of CAS" (Sept. 13). One fails to understand why a broadcaster should become a pay channel at all when free-to-air channels are commercially viable. CAS is only a ploy to force pay channels on viewers so that vested interests can make more money. The need of the hour is to break the monopoly of cable operators.
