Two naxals killed in encounter

GUNTUR SEPT. 19. Two naxalites belonging to the outlawed People's War (PW) were killed in an encounter with the police at Chityala reserve forest in Bellamkonda mandal of Guntur district today. The Superintendent of Police, Ravishankar Ayyanar, said special police parties sent to naxalite-affected areas, came under attack.

A group of naxalites hurled bombs at the police and also exploded a landmine. Police returned fire in which the two were killed, while the others fled.
