COIMBATORE: The local chapter of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while welcoming the New Industrial Policy announced by the State Government, has sought a few more concessions. The president of the chamber, A. V. Varadharajan, listed a number of its features including promotion of FDI, private-public partnership and focus on strengthening infrastructure as `most attractive'. At the same time, he pleaded for speedy reforms and cost-based tariff in the power sector. Besides, he wanted removal of entry tax for materials received from other States to make Tamil Nadu a manufacturing centre. He sought reforms in sales tax, introduction of VAT and subsidy for transportation and logistics costs for exports. Our Special Correspondent
