Sobhraj held in Nepal

Kathmandu Sept. 19. Charles Sobhraj, accused of murdering and robbing tourists around Asia, was arrested here this morning. Sobhraj(60), a French national who spent 20 years in Tihar jail in India, was arrested from the Royale Casino in Durbarmarg.

Police started hunting for Sobhraj after Himalayan Times published his photograph on Wednesday. Nicknamed `serpent' for his talent at disguise and escape, he is wanted here for the murder of two women from the U.S. and Canada in 1975.
