Warrant stayed

NEW DELHI SEPT. 19. The Delhi High Court today stayed a bailable warrant issued by the Liberhan Commission of Inquiry against the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh, asking him to appear before it to depose as a prosecution witness.

Justice A.K. Sikri stayed the warrant on a request by his lawyer, M.N. Krishnamani, submitting that he required a week's time to file a rejoinder to the Commission. The Additional Solicitor-General, K.K. Sud, did not oppose Mr. Krishnamani's request. Justice Sikri fixed the matter for October 17 for further hearing.
