A hasty action, says PM

ISTANBUL SEPT. 19. The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today asked the Human Resource Development Minister, Murli Manohar Joshi, to reconsider his decision to quit.

"He has hastily put in his papers. He should have waited till the party (BJP) reacted over the court verdict," Mr. Vajpayee told reporters here before emplaning for New York.

Earlier, Mr. Vajpayee delayed his departure for New York waiting for the Rae Bareli court's ruling. The flight took off only after the court's ruling was made known to him.
