Shiv Sena regrets resignation

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI Sept. 20. The Shiv Sena chief, Bal Thackeray has regretted the resignation of the Union Human Resource Development Minister, Murli Manohar Joshi.

Mr. Thackeray said that Dr. Joshi's resignation has caused immense harm to the NDA Government in which his party is a partner. The party daily, Saamna quoted him as praising the Minister as "learned and dedicated".

But the Shiv Sena chief thought that the Minister had no option but to quit because the Rae Bareli court found reasons to try him in the Babari Masjid demolition case.
