Cong. apprehends threat to Krishna Yadav's life

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Sept. 20. The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, D. Srinivas, on Saturday described the former Minister and TDP MLA, C Krishna Yadav, presently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team of Maharashtra probing the fake stamp paper scam, as a small fry in the scam and said the names of some major players were yet to surface.

Participating in a dharna organised by the party at the Ameerpet MRO office in the city as part of the Jan Jagaran Abhiyan, the PCC president feared threat to the life of Mr.Yadav following his comments made in an interview published in these columns that he would reveal the names of major players in the scam. "It is the ruling TDP's image that will suffer if the former Minister reveals the names and hence, the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, should take the responsibility if anything happens to Mr. Yadav," he said demanding that the Government order an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court Judge to bring out the facts. He also requested the Maharashtra police to ensure adequate security to Mr. Yadav.

The PCC president criticised Mr. Chandrababu Naidu for turning "a blind eye'' to the caustic comments made by the AP High Court on the continuance of the Minister for Housing, P. Ramasubba Reddy, in the Cabinet. The TDP, however, had no face to go to the public after the exposure of various scandals in the State. "There is a clear change in the public perception about the Congress and they are prepared to throw the ruling party out of power whenever elections are held," he said exhorting the party cadre to be prepared for any sacrifice to bring the Congress back to power.
