The victims have been identified by the police as Joshua Samuel (45) and his wife, Yana Samuel (38), residents of Manjunatha Layout in R.T. Nagar. The Seshadripuram Traffic police have seized the bus and are on the lookout for its driver. The police have taken up a case of rash and negligent driving resulting in death.
Women die of burns
Two women died of burns they had suffered in separate cases of stove burst. The police said that Shivamma (42) of Bayappanahalli and Shivamma (28) of Doddathogur village in Hebbugodi police station limits suffered burns due to a stove burst at their houses and died in Victoria Hospital on Friday.
Man arrested
The Kalasipalyam police arrested Siddaiah (55) of Kempe Gowda Nagar on the charge of murdering Rukkamma alias Jayamma (37), with whom he allegedly had an affair. Rukkamma's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house at Mavalli on September 11. The Kalasipalyam police had taken up a case of murder.
Spare parts recovered
The Yelahanka police recovered automobile spare parts worth Rs. 82,000 by arresting Ganesh (18) of Down Bazaar on the charge of burglary. The police said Ganesh allegedly broke into a godown in Yelahanka and stole the spare parts.
Three arrested
The Chamarajapet police arrested three persons on charges of robbery and recovered gold ornaments and mobile phones worth Rs. 15,000 from them. The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Raja (19) of Anandapura and Nayaz (22) and Vimal (23) of Tipunagar. The police claimed to have solved two cases of robbery reported from Basavanagudi police station limits with the arrest of the three youths.
Recovered
The Cottonpet police arrested Mohammed Yakub (28) of Tipunagar, Mysore Road, and recovered three two-wheelers, worth Rs. 1.25 lakh from him. He allegedly used duplicate key to steal vehicles. The K.G. Halli police arrested William (22) of Cox Town and recovered valuables worth Rs. 1 lakh. William used to allegedly target locked houses. With his arrest, the police have claimed to have solved 11 cases of theft.
