Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is good that the Supreme Court has directed the CBI to file an FIR against the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati, and a few top bureaucrats in the Taj Heritage scam. But the same Court is yet to give its verdict in many other cases which have been pending for long.
M. Suresh,
* * * Sir, This refers to the editorial "Monument and folly" ( Sept. 19 ). By once again taking on the high and mighty, the Judiciary has vindicated the faith the people have reposed in it.
Neeharika Sinha,
* * * Sir, Ms. Mayawati's initial claim that she knew nothing about the project reminds me of the reply of a character in a Chinese tale, who, when caught with a stolen cow, says: "I only picked up one end of the rope. I didn't know there was a cow at the other end."
N.K. Suryanarayanan,
