Pakistan batsmen put behind the disappointment of South Africa's decision to cancel the tour due to security fears and amassed 302 for five off their 50 overs. Bangladesh never looked to threaten Pakistan's imposing total despite Razin Saleh and Alok Kapali's best-ever third wicket stand of 128 runs for their country. They broke Faruque Ahmed and Athar Ali Khan's 108-run mark made against India at Chandigarh in 1990. Both fell at the total of 221 in the 47th over. Razin made 71 off 96 balls before he was run out while Kapali scored 69 off 86 deliveries with six fours and was bowled by Umer Gul. Hannan Sarkar (50) also scored his second successive half century, but Bangladesh batsmen failed to keep up the pace with the required run-rate.
