Naren-Ramkumar duo on a roll

Chandigarh Sept. 21. Team MRF Tyres V.R. Naren Kumar and co-driver D. Ramkumar won for the eighth time in a row after clinching the Power M1 Challenge Rally at Chandigarh.

Team JCT Limited's Samir Thappar and Asia Zone Rally Champion co-driver Gurinder Singh Mann continued their lead in the first leg on Saturday, to comfortably prevail over in the 1400cc class and also took third place overall.

Overall: 1. V.R. Naren Kumar/D. Ram Kumar (Team MRF) 1:43:46s; 2. Vikram Mathias/B.S. SujithKumar (Team MRF) 1:44:22s; 3. Samir Thappar/Gurinder Singh Mann (Team JCT) 1:46:25; 4. Lohith V. Urs/M.K. Boppanna 1:47:31; 5. Jiby Maliakkal/Nikhil V. Pai (Team Gulf Oil) 1:51:43;

6. Rajiv Suri/Rajeev Mehta 1:58:22.

Up to 1400cc class: 1. Samir/Mann; 2. V. Urs/M.K. Boppanna.

Rally star cup: 1. Ram Prashanth/Thiru Murthy 1:51:18s; 2. Ranjith Ballal/Shanmuga (Team RAC) 1:51:41; 3.Yogeshwar Gill/Harkanwal Cheema 2:05:23; 4. Krishna Kumari/Namrata Kumari 02:16:40.
