Suresh, Doss slam centuries

VISAKHAPATNAM SEPT. 22. Tamil Nadu's E. Suresh and K. Srivasudeva Doss slammed centuries and sent Kerala on a leather hunt at the Zinc Stadium on Monday, the first day of the round-robin match in the P. Ramachandra Rao Trophy South Zone under-22 tournament on Monday.

Doss made 133 (1x6, 19x4) and Suresh 137 (17x4) and put on 243 runs for the third wicket. At close Tamil Nadu was on 324 for six .

At the Ukku Stadium, Hyderabad's left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha picked up six wickets and restricted Andhra to 165 for six.

A 104-run stand between Swapnil Asnodkar (79, 11x4) and Ganesh Talekar (33) for the second wicket was the highlight of Goa's total of 196 against Karnataka at the Port Stadium. Karnataka was 55 for one at close.

The scores:

Tamil Nadu 324 for six in 89.2 overs (E. Suresh 137, K. Srivasudeva Doss 133, G. Prasanna 40 batting, Sujit three for 46) vs Kerala.

Andhra 165 for six in 76.4 overs (Y. Gnaneswara Rao 52, Y. Venugopala Rao 30, Pragyan Ojha six for 52) vs Hyderabad.

Goa 196 in 62.4 overs (Swapnil Asnodkar 79, Ganesh Talekar 33, R. Vinay Kumar three for 45, Udit Patel three for 60) vs Karnataka 55 for one in 12 overs.
