Effectively, there will only be seven working days since the House was adjourned on Monday after adopting a condolence motion while there is an intervening holiday on September 28, as it is a Sunday. However, the House will meet on Saturday. At a meeting of the BAC presided over by the Speaker, K. Pratibha Bharathi, it was decided that the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, would make a statement on his discussions with the Karnataka Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, tomorrow. This would be followed immediately by a short discussion on corruption and criminalisation of politics. A debate is scheduled on September 24 on the ongoing tussle between the three regions of the State for their share of Krishna waters while the House will discuss the power situation on September 25. A demand by the Leader of the Opposition, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, that the House should meet for at least ten working days was rejected by the Government on the ground that there were a string of holidays from October 2 and that the Speaker would be leaving on a foreign tour on October 5. Earlier in the morning, Mrs. Pratibha Bharathi hosted a breakfast for the floor leaders at Jubilee Hall. It was attended by the Chief Minister, the CLP leader, Ministers and several legislators.
