Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, was the brain behind the drama which culminated in the Babri Masjid demolition. But his presence was not as visible as that of Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and others on December 6, 1992. Mr. Joshi, Ms. Bharti and others were caught in press photographs with glee writ large on their faces as the edifice was crumbling. Mr. Advani may escape the legal clutches but stands morally condemned.
T.S. Rao,
* * * Sir, Jaipal Reddy of the Congress, commenting on the discharge of Mr. Advani by the Rae Bareli court, has said that it is a clear example of "sabotage" by the CBI. And that Mr. Advani misused his office to weaken the case ( Sept. 21 ). I would like to draw Mr. Reddy's attention to The Hindu editorial, "Mind your language" ( July 22 ) which spoke about the need for politicians to be restrained. It is sad that Mr. Reddy, once adjudged the best parliamentarian, should stoop to such levels and comment thus on a judicial pronouncement.
A.P.V.A. Naga Mohan,
