Letters to the Editor
Sir, To me, The Hindu symbolises all that is good and noble in the field of journalism. It has scrupulously avoided sensationalism. It does not allow itself to be swayed by narrow parochialism. I suggest that you add some light-hearted articles in the centre page.
D. Samuel Lawrence,
* * * Sir, K. Sundararaman, professor, Government College, Kumbakonam, wrote many articles to The Hindu regularly. M. Vijayaraghavachariar, then manager, wrote to him saying "though nominally an outsider, you have built up the glory and the reputation of The Hindu." The professor's literary connection with the newspaper lasted from 1882 to1935.
M.N. Raghuraman
* * * Sir, The Hindu certainly forms part of my mornings, or afternoons and nights, depending on the schedule here. I request you to bring out a metro plus weekly for us who are devoid of metro culture.
Shyam Krishnan,
