Letters to the Editor
Sir, Advertisements of various "fairness" oils and creams have become common in TV channels. While the effect of these products is not known, the assumption that white skin is beautiful and superior to dark skin is condemnable and smacks of colonial fervour. Dark skin is due to the presence of melanin, which protects our body from the harmful effects of ultra violet rays.
