The team led 47-24 at half time, according to information received here on Tuesday. Playing the match within two hours of its landing, the Indian team got off to a good start and led 19-12 at the end of the first quarter. Thereafter, the team retained the momentum with an all-round performance, with Desh Raj and S. Robinson doing the bulk of the scoring. ``Besides combining well, our defence also stood its ground and forced the Kuwaitis into making errors'', said the chief coach, K. K. Chansooriya. The coach said that the experience of the seasoned Parminder Singh helped the team gain a stranglehold over the proceedings. The results: India 94 (Desh Raj 26, S. Robinson 21, Parminder Singh 18, Sridhar 11, Riyazuddin 10) beat Kuwait 74 (Haitham 18, Osmapmu 17, Abdullah 11).
