By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI SEPT. 23. With the launching of `Speak2Gulf' calling card in Tamil Nadu today, Reliance Infocomm will offer low rates for ISD calls to the Gulf countries. The rates on these cards will be as low as Rs.11 a minute, depending on the denomination used, says a release from the company.

Under the new scheme, the `Speak2Gulf' card will enable Reliance customers to avail themselves of attractive ISD rates for calls to specific countries in the Gulf region namely the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. These cards are available in four denominations from a minimum talk value of Rs. 450 for 30 minutes to a maximum of Rs. 2,750 for 250 minutes. Thus, the net rate per minute on these cards can be as low as Rs.11 per minute depending on the denomination used. The billing pulse on these cards is on a per minute basis.

While existing Reliance IndiaMobile (RIM) customers with ISD facility on their RIM connection could use this card, the release said that to register the card and avail of the rates, a customer could call *346 and follow the voice prompt to key in the secret PIN given on the card.
