Responding to a query made by N. Rajyalakshmi of the Congress during question hour, the Minister said this would be possible because of Rs. 120 crores made available by the Centre treating Somasila as a "fast track project.'' Out of the Rs. 104.5 crores released so far under this assistance, 243 works were completed, 139 were in progress and another set of 133 works were being grounded. Out of the 1,435 acres of patta land and 7,700 structures coming under land acquisition, 759 acres and 305 structures were acquired. The Minister denied Mrs. Rajyalakshmi's allegations about irregularities in the execution of works. He said there should not be any problem regarding land acquisition, for a committee was formed headed by the district Collector who could be approached if there was any issue. Rock garden: A rock garden will come up on 200 acres of land near Orvakallu, about 20 km from Kurnool. This was stated by the Minister for Tourism, T. Srinivas Yadav, in reply to a point raised by D. Umamaheswara Rao of the Telugu Desam. He said the proposal included development of a cave-restaurant, a museum, landscpaing, rock illumination and public amenities. A detailed concept plan was under preparation as the land was transferred to the department. In this connection, the Minister mentioned about Belum Caves, also in the same district, to state that accommodation, restaurant and highway facilities were coming up there also. Anti-fluoride water scheme: The Panchayat Raj Minister, N. Janardhan Reddy, told M. V. Mysoora Reddy of the Congress that a drinking water pilot project was taken up with Rs. 12.9 crores to provide fluoride-free water to 86 villages in Medak and Siddipet divisions in Medak district. He denied the allegation that the project had become useless after execution and stated that it was, in fact, serving eight more villages. Oilpalm incentives: The Government is contemplating to setting up facilities to enable oilpalm growers to take their crop to processing units within 24 hours as required by the crop for proper extraction of oil. The Minister for Horticulture, P. Narayanawamy Naidu, told D. Sivaram and others of Telugu Desam that they were providing a subsidy of Rs 21,000 per hactare for oilpalm farm and another 50 per cent subsidy for purchase of drip/sprinkler irrigation systems as envisaged under the Rs. 1,200-crore programme launched now. Answering supplementaries, the Minister said there was slight decline in oilpalm cultivation in the State due to fall in fruit prices. However, the Government was able to offset this by not changing import duty on palmoil with the help of the Centre. He said, oilpalm cultivation was on in 11 districts with East and West Godavari, Krishna and Nellore accounting for a major chunk.
