The British High Commission said this was one of Gen. Walker's first overseas visits since taking over as the CDS four months ago. He will call on the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, the Chiefs of Staff and visit several military establishments and units in J&K, Agra and Gwalior. He is accompanied by Lady Walker, whose grandfather served in the British Indian Army (Skinner's Horse). During his official engagements beginning tomorrow with the Indian service chiefs, Gen. Walker will touch upon several ongoing bilateral defence initiatives and seek to broaden them through more joint training initiatives, broader level of exchanges and new training courses.
