Yaseen Malik acquitted

New Delhi Sept. 23. A special court today acquitted the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief, Yaseen Malik, in a TADA case for allegedly "aiding and abetting terrorist activities in the Valley."

The Designated Judge, S.N. Dhingra, acquitted Mr. Malik saying the conspiracy charge levelled against him did not hold ground as "evidence showed that he had been acting independently." Reacting to the judgment, Mr. Malik said "justice has been done after a long time." — PTI
