Belgaum lawyers to work for consensus on Bench

By Our Staff Correspondent

Belgaum Sept. 23. A delegation of the Belgaum Bar Association has left for Gulbarga in a bid to evolve a consensus on the location of a permanent Bench of the Karnataka High Court even as the Bar associations of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region have reportedly opposed any decision to have the Bench outside the region.

The delegation, which includes the Belgaum Bar Association Secretary, Dhanraj Gavali, and the senior advocate, A.R. Vijaykumar, is led by the association President, S.S. Kivadsannavar.

The team will request the Bar associations of Hyderabad-Karnataka, especially Gulbarga, to attend the meeting scheduled on Saturday in Belgaum.

The Bar association, along with other associations in North Karnataka, is trying to convince its counterparts in Bidar, Gulbarga, and Raichur to create a congenial atmosphere to resolve the long-pending issue.
