Tata Open: Srichaphan confirms participation

CHENNAI SEPT. 23. Thailand's tennis sensation and World No.12 Paradorn Srichaphan has confirmed that he will defend his title at the Tata Open 2004 scheduled in Chennai from January 5 to 11.

"This year started off on a great note for me having won the 2003 Tata Open here. It was great to win after being the runner-up," said Srichaphan. "My performance through this year has been very solid and having reached the pre-quarterfinals in the US Open has really boosted my confidence.

"The crowd in Chennai is very enthusiastic. It is a pleasure to come back here and I hope to retain the Tata Open title."
