Madhumita's mother `shocked'

Lakhimpur Kheri (U.P.) Sept. 23. The slain poetess, Madhumita Shukla's mother today expressed shock over the Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav's statement favouring Amarmani Tripathi, former Minister and an accused in the Madhumita murder case.

Talking to UNI here, the poetess' mother, Shanti Devi, said Mr. Yadav who had always demanded Mr. Amarmani's arrest had changed after coming to power.

She was apprehensive that following the ``change of heart'' of the Chief Minister, the culprits in the gruesome crime would not be punished.
