Cong. alleges code violation

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD Sept. 23. The APCC has charged the TDP and its ally, the BJP, with flagrantly violating the election code of conduct during the campaigning for the Karwan by-election and also alleged that the police were playing a partisan role.

In letters addressed to the Chief Electoral Officer, Chitra Ramachandran, and the Returning Officer, Vani Prasad, here on Tuesday, the APCC general secretary, P. Sudhakar Reddy, charged activists of the TDP and the BJP with indulging in distribution of funds, liquor along with making preparations for large-scale bogus voting.

Mr. Reddy urged the in-charge officials to interfere and ensure that steps were taken for a fair and impartial polling in the constituency, according to a press release.
