The Andhra Pradesh Government is in constant liaison with the German company since nearly one year to persuade it to establish operations in Visakhapatnam. Volkswagen officials are simultaneously holding talks with Tamil Nadu to study the prospects of locating their proposed unit in that State.
The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, held discussions this morning with the Volkswagen team, which included Helmuth Schuster and Ashok Jain, and hosted a dinner later. The team is expected to visit the port city of Vizag tomorrow.
