Juice, soup sold on Marina not safe: Corpn.

CHENNAI SEPT. 24. The Chennai Corporation has cautioned the health-conscious beachgoers that the herbal juice and soups sold near the Gandhi Statue on the Marina could be hazardous to health.

According to a press release, tests on samples of herbal juices revealed that the water used to produce such drinks were not suitable for consumption. Moreover, coliform bacteria and colouring materials, which are hazardous to health, were found in the tests conducted by the Corporation Health department officials.

The Corporation appealed the public to avoid such drinks produced in an unhygienic environment. Such products identified to be harmful to health would be confiscated and stringent action taken against those who sold such drinks.
