Rare marine species seized
Mumbai
Sept. 25.
In one of the biggest seizures of illegal marine species, the Directorate of Wildlife Preservation has recovered over 1,000 specimens from Diu Island and have placed a former merchant navy captain under arrest.
The Regional Deputy Director of Wildlife Preservation, S.K. Niraj, confirmed the incident and saying the owner of the museum, Capt. Deviji Phulvaria, was arrested after the raids conducted on Saturday and Sunday and he had been remanded to police custody for two weeks.
