Flood wreaks havoc

SONNA (GULBARGA DT.) Sept. 25 . Floods in Afzalpur taluk have left a trail of destruction, with hundreds of irrigation pumpsets installed on the banks of the Bheema washed away and standing crops in several villages submerged.

Work on the Bheema Lift Irrigation Project has been disrupted. Even 24 hours after the floods, equipment, including two wagon drills, jackhammers, water pumps, and shutting plates, were under water.
