Inaugurating a two-day all India Technical Students Symposium MECHNIUM ' 03 organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering in Pondicherry Engineering College here today, he deplored that the professional ethics was missing now. Mr. Ram Prabhu maintained that a close cooperation was necessary between the teachers and the taught and participatory system should prevail in classrooms to enrich the creative skills of students in engineering courses. He said that there was a loud thinking among the faculty in Anna University that the previous system of five-year engineering course to achieve the multifarious advantages could be achieved. He said that this was only the general view of the staff and only the AICTE (all India Council of Technical Education) was the final authority to take the decision. Mr. Ram Prabhu also released a souvenir and launched the activities of the Mechanical Engineering Department students council`s activities for the 2003-2004 academic year.
