According to the prosecution, on February 14, 2001, the 15-year-old girl studying in Standard VI in the Sennampatty Government school was kidnapped by Sundararajan (20) of Thaneerpandalpalayam near Vellitiruppur. He kept the girl in a house near Vellode and outraged her modesty. Based on a complaint by her father, the Vellitiruppur police arrested Sundararajan, Rathinam and Sengodan. The judge awarded one year RI to Rathinam and Sengodan for assisting Sundararajan in committing the offence. Our Madurai Staff Reporter reports: Meanwhile, the Aruppukottai town police today arrested Muniyandi (35), on the charge of outraging the modesty of a 5-year-old girl, at Palayampatti here. According to the police, the accused who came to his sister-in-law's house indulged in the criminal act against her daughter in a drunken mood, last Friday.
