He was addressing a public meeting after dedicating the 100th drinking water supply scheme at Kanauda village near Bahadurgarh. He regretted that even after 56 years of Independence there were 3.5 lakh villages without adequate drinking water in the country. Haryana, he said, was committed to ensuring supply of 40 to 110 litres of water per capita per day. He said the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal project would be completed within one year and it provide irrigation for an area of 7.5 lakh acres.
