Disproportionate assets case: excise inspector held

Hyderabad Sept. 27. Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unearthed properties worth over Rs. 32 lakhs belonging to the Inspector (Prohibition and Excise), Dasari Ramaswamy, of Narsampet in Warangal district, during simultaneous raids conducted at Warangal and Karimnagar on Saturday. The inspector was arrested and being produced before the Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad, according to a press release. The assets were disproportionate to his known sources of income. They were in the name of Ramaswamy and those of his family members. The properties included 11acres of agricultural land in Karimnagar district, one flat in Hyderabad, a house site at Sultanabad in Karimnagar district, share in a rice mill, one Qualis vehicle and a Maruti car. Searches revealed that the inspector, along with his brother, was running an educational institute at Sultanabad. The case is under investigation.
