Letters to the Editor
Sir, During the 125 years celebrations of The Hindu, Mr. Vajpayee said the media should be "the voice of the voiceless" and "the hope of the hopeless". Newspapers have a life span of just a few hours, and end up in a grocery store as the cheapest available packaging material! It could be too much to expect them to perform the sort of miracles Mr. Vajpayee yearns for. K. Kumara Sekhar, Eluru, A.P. * * * Sir, I have just joined The Hindu club and found that your reporting and coverage of international affairs, especially the Gulf War, was excellent. Sarwar Nasree, Dehra Dun * * * Sir, Reading The Hindu is one of the most effective ways of improving English, especially for the students who are appearing for various entrance tests in which English is a major selection criteria. Tarun Kumar Gupta, Jalandhar, Punjab
