Tanur-Kozhikode doubling work soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM SEPT. 30. The doubling work of the Kozhikode-Tanur section in north Kerala is to be taken up shortly by the Railways, the Union Minister of State for Railways, A. K. Moorthy, has said.

Addressing a press conference here after inaugurating the platform ticket vending machine, the first in the State set up with the assistance of State Bank of India, at the central station here, Mr. Moorthy said the construction of five Road Over Bridges between Ernakulam and Mangalore would commence this year.

The survey for installing the Anti-Collision Device developed by Konkan Railway between Ernakulam and Chennai was on. The work of the crossing station at Parasala would be completed this year. Mr. Moorthy said the trip shed for diesel locomotives at the central railway station would be completed this year.
