Directive to S. Rly.

KOCHI Sept. 30. The Kerala High Court today directed the General Manager, Southern Railway, to file an affidavit detailing the steps taken by it to ensure safety of the passengers in trains, especially those travelling in the ladies compartment. Justice C. N. Ramachandran Nair issued the directive on a writ petition filed by Sister Kochuthresia, lecturer, Vimala College, Thrissur. According to her, she had lost her limbs when some robbers pushed her out of the Guruvayur-Egmore Express from Thrissur on March 18. The petitioner said out that the though the Railway had assured that steps would be taken to ensure the safety of the passengers, no action had been taken.
