Vaiko case posted for October 6

KANCHEEPURAM SEPT. 30. Cross-examination of a prosecution witness in the case against the MDMK general secretary, Vaiko and eight other party leaders, arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, did not take place today, as the special public prosecutor, S. Jayakumar, filed a petition before L.Rajendran, judge, special court, at Poonamalle, near Chennai, stating that Sennakesavan, sub-inspector of Tirumangalam town police station, suffered from viral fever.

The judge then posted the case for October 6.

Except P.S.Maniam, all the eight accused — Mr.Vaiko, Ganesamurthy, Veera Ilavarasan, Bhoominathan, Pulavar Sevanthiappan, Madurai Ganesan, Alagusundaram and Nagarajan — were brought from the Vellore central prison and produced in the court.
