Ashok Shandilya in last eight

MUMBAI Oct. 2. Ashok Shandilya and Dhruv Sitwala held centrestage alongwith Mohd. Asim when booking quarterfinal slots in the billiards event of the P.J.Hindu Gymkhana All-India Open billiards and snooker tournament, defeating Jatinder Dawer, Arun Agrawal and Chandu Shah respectively, on Thurday.

Shandilya notched breaks of 112, 80 in opening and third frmae for an easy win. Sitwala started with 103 break, followed by another century break in the fourth for a 4-1 victory, wiping out Agrawal's 61, 58 and 89 in first three frames respectively. Asim sparkled in a 4-1 verdict over Shah, building breaks with quiet efficiency (109, 56, 54, 55) as proof of excellent form at this phase of the tournament.

Former world billiards champion and current national coach Michael Ferreira was routed 3-0 by youngster Jaswinder Singh.
