Mr. Naidu also spoke to the media to deliver a brief thanks-giving message and seemed cheerful though the pain seemed evident. A press release by the NIMS Director, Kakarla Subba Rao, who is leading a team of doctors to monitor his health, said Mr. Naidu was doing quite well except for minor musculoskeletal pains and the pain at the site of the broken collar bone. "Otherwise, he is quite cheerful and quite active in the house," he added. Among those who called on Mr. Naidu were the APCC president, D. Srinivas, and the Congress spokesperson, K. Rosaiah. A large number of film personalities, including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Ashwini Dutt, K. Raghavendra Rao and M. S. Reddy, also went to the Chief Minister's residence to wish him a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, the general health condition of the Information Technology Minister, B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, who was among those injured in the blast, was described as good by the doctors. Mr. Reddy had suffered a broken clavicle and also had fractures on the upper side of the left ribs. He complained of pain and disturbed sleep.
MLA operated upon
The MLA, R. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was injured in the blast and who showed symptoms of recovery yesterday by moving pupils, was operated upon today at the SIMS for a clot in the brain. The Health Minister, K. Sivaprasada Rao, said the operation was "successful" and the MLA was kept under observation. The surgery became necessary as the clot was increasing though he showed recovery symptoms by moving pupils and responding to commands with movement of legs. The operation was done on the advice of experts from the National Institute of Medical Health and Neurological Surgery, Bangalore. The survey was done by two doctors from this institute.
