TRS to take campaign overseas

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Oct 3. Taking the slogan for a separate Telangana overseas, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has decided to approach the non-resident Telanganites for their help in achieving a separate statehood to the region.

Towards this end, a delegation of TRS headed by the party president, K Chandrasekhar Rao, will leave for the United States on October 30. The delegation that includes the TRS Public Representatives Forum chairman, A Narendra, will visit New York, Washington D.C, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Jose during their 15-day visit which will conclude on November 16.

During their visit, the TRS members will address meetings and seminars at different places explaining the present state of affairs in Telangana as well as the resources, funds and development that could be achieved if the region gets separate statehood.

According to party sources, the Telangana Development Forum, a non-profit organisation registered in the US about four and a half years ago, has taken the initiative to coordinate the arrangements for the TRS delegation's visit. A pilot team headed by the party legislator, R Papa Rao and Nizamabad zilla parishad chairman, Santosh Reddy, would leave for the US tentatively on Oct 15 to oversee the arrangements being made for the meetings to be attended by the non-resident Telanganites.
